Three-day National conference on Neurophysiology concludes at DMCH

Department of Neurology, DMCH organised three-day workshop from November 24-26, National conference on Neurophysiology, IAN-CNPCON 2023, 6th Conference of Neurophysiology Subsection of Indian Academy of Neurology. The conference was attendant by more than 250 delegates from all over the country.

Ludhiana, November 28, 2023: Department of Neurology, DMCH organised three-day workshop from November 24-26, National conference on Neurophysiology, IAN-CNPCON 2023, 6th Conference of Neurophysiology Subsection of Indian Academy of Neurology. The conference was attendant by more than 250 delegates from all over the country.

Third day of the conference was focused on "The sleep workshop" which was conducted by Dr. Manvir Bhatia, Neurologist and sleep specialist from New Delhi and she organized the hands on workshop for diagnosis and management of various sleep related disorders.

Dr Gagandeep Singh, Professor & Head Department of Neurology informed that this three day National Conference was first of its kind which was participated by renowned neurologists, neurosurgeons, physicians and technicians. This grand academic extravaganza provided knowledge and skill needed to perform all types of sleep studies. Various case studies and hands on workshops were conducted by eminent national and international faculty.

Dr Rajinder Bansal Professor, Department of Neurology apprised everyone about the importance of sleep and different sleep problems likes insomnia, sleeplessness, snoring, frightening dreams, sleep apnea and daytime sleepiness and tiredness.

Dr Birinder Paul, Associate Professor Department of Neurology informed that sleep problems are widely prevalent in the community but are under diagnosed and lead to poor quality of life. This workshop will help to physicians to a great extent  making right diagnosis related to sleep problems said Dr Paul.  

Dr  Monika Singla, Professor Department of Neurology conducted the quiz and poster presentation sessions for the delegates. There were 20 posters presented. Dr. Pradeep Kumar from NIMHANS, Bangalore, Dr. Faim Ahmed and dr. Somya singhal from Delhi and Dr. Amrut from Lucknow were declared winners in the competition.
 

Dr. Dhananjay Gupta, Assistant Professor Department of Neurology conducted a hands on training workshop to use Bipap and CPAP machines for the sleep workshop which was attended by more than 50 technicians.

Various discussions, case studies and hands on workshops made this conference more interactive.
