Dharamshala, June 19, 2025: In a major breakthrough under the ongoing anti-drug campaign by the Nurpur Police District, three individuals were arrested with 538 grams of hashish at the Kandwal barrier checkpoint on Wednesday.
According to Superintendent of Police Ashok Ratan, the police intercepted a vehicle during a routine blockade near Kandwal, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Nurpur. Upon inspection, 538 grams of hashish were recovered from the possession of three individuals, all residents of Pathankot.
Following the recovery, an FIR was registered under Sections 20, 25, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Nurpur. The accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
SP Ashok Ratan reiterated the police department’s commitment to continuing the crackdown on drug trafficking in the region, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against those involved in drug-related activities.
