Patiala, June 26, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday affirmed those who shielded the perpetrators of the Beadbi (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for 15 years can never be forgiven by the Sangat and asserted that those responsible for the heinous crime would soon be behind bars. During a Lok Milni among people of village Gajewas in the Samana Assembly segment of Patiala district, the Chief Minister said the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026 would ensure strict punishment for anyone committing beadbi.
He also highlighted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government’s people-centric governance, saying public money is being spent on development, schools, hospitals and roads, while more than 90% of households are receiving free electricity and over 68,000 youth have secured government jobs without bribery or recommendation.
