Some journeys begin with a dream, while others unfold one step at a time. For actress Aarti Birajdar, the road to acting was not something she planned from the start. Today, as she gears up to play Vaidehi in Sun Neo's upcoming show Thodi Si Umeed Thoda Sa Aasman, Aarti reflects on how she discovered her passion for performing and eventually found her place in the world of acting.
Sharing her journey, Aarti says, “It wasn’t like I always wanted to become an actor. I think very few people know exactly what they want to be from childhood. As we grow up, we often dream of becoming different things, sometimes a doctor, sometimes an engineer. I had those thoughts too. But over time, you realize that after exploring many options, there is one thing that truly stays with you, and that becomes your real goal. The same happened with me. In the beginning, I thought about doing many different things, but I was always very interested in Maharashtrian folk art.”
She futher added, “I loved performing folk songs, Powada, and small street plays (path natya). Whenever I performed, I received appreciation and recognition. That’s when I realized that this was something I could truly pursue. Even today, I am deeply in love with the performing arts, and that is why I continue to follow this path.”
Thodi Si Umeed Thoda Sa Aasman follows the inspiring journey of Vaidehi, a determined young woman from a modest background who dreams of building a better future for herself. As she navigates societal expectations, family responsibilities, and countless obstacles, Vaidehi's resilience and unwavering spirit become her greatest strengths. The show beautifully captures her pursuit of independence, self-belief, and the courage to rise above every challenge that comes her way.
