For actors who spend long hours on an outdoor shoot, a day off is usually about catching up on rest. But during their unit off for Ganesh Chaturthi, the lead cast of Sun Neo’s Thodi Si Umeed Thoda Sa Aasman Aarti Birajdar, who plays Vaidehi, Ankita Bahuguna, who plays Anupriya, and Gaurav Bajpai, who plays Abhijeet, decided to make the most of their break. Stepping away from their hostel, the trio went together to a Ganpati pandal in Kolhapur to soak in the festive spirit. For Aarti, the visit turned out to be more than just a festive outing, as she shared what made the pandal and the experience especially meaningful for her.
Sharing her experience, Aarti said, “Usually, we don’t get much free time due to the shoot, But Whenever we do get a break, we mostly rest at the hostel or explore places nearby. But since we got an off during Ganpati, all of us decided to step out and visit a Ganpati pandal. We went to Shri Margai Galli Mandal in Kolhapur, and I was really happy to see how beautifully the festival was being celebrated. What caught my attention was a board asking devotees to bring books and pens instead of the usual offerings. I found that thought really beautiful. A book may seem like a small offering, but it can help someone learn, grow or simply bring joy to another person. Seeing such a simple idea being turned into something meaningful made the visit even more special for me.”
She further added, “What I also loved was seeing so many young people taking an active part in organising everything at the pandal. They were celebrating Ganpati with so much energy, but at the same time, they were also thinking about society and the environment. That really stayed with me because it showed that festivals can be about more than just celebration. Shooting whole day and spending most of our time at the hostel, this little break felt even more special. We went there to celebrate and have some fun, but we came back with a beautiful thought and a very positive feeling.”
