Banga, December 1, 2025: Senior Congress leader Pawan Dewan, appointed as Observer for Banga, held a meeting with party leaders and workers to discuss the upcoming Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections. The meeting focused on assessing the winning potential of the prospective candidates.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Dewan said that the sole basis for allotting a Congress party ticket is the candidate’s ability to win. He added that people are fed up with the policies of the current Aam Aadmi Party government and are now looking towards the Congress with hope. There is great enthusiasm among party workers regarding the elections, and many are aspiring for party tickets. He emphasized that while only one candidate will receive the ticket, all party workers will unite to ensure the victory of the selected nominee.
District Congress Committee President Ajay Mangupur and former President Satvir Singh Pallijikki stated that the party workers are highly motivated for the upcoming elections. They added that the party is reaching out to people door-to-door to spread awareness about Congress policies, and the positive public response clearly indicates that the party is poised for a strong victory in these elections.
A meeting was also held with senior party leaders and potential candidates. Among those present were Ajay Mungoopur (President, District Congress Committee, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar), former President Satvir Singh Pallijikki, Meena Choudhary (wife of late Tarlochan Singh Soondh), Block President Kulwaran Singh, former Chairman Market Committee Banga Darvjit Singh Puni, former Chairman Market Committee Banga Harbant Singh, Sarpanch Lubhaya Ram, Sarpanch Gurmej Ram, Harish Saddi, Dr. Bakhshish Singh, and Pushpinder Sharma.
