The melodious performance of Jal Tarang player Shashikala captivates the audience at the “Rang Sur” Musical Fiesta
As part of the “Rang Mahotsav”, the two-day “Rang Sur” Musical Fiesta was inaugurated by the Music Department of MDU at the Tagore Auditorium. Prof. R.P. Saini, Vice Chancellor of CRSU, Jind, inaugurated the program as the chief guest.
Rohtak, February 17, 2026: As part of the “Rang Mahotsav”, the two-day “Rang Sur” Musical Fiesta was inaugurated by the Music Department of MDU at the Tagore Auditorium. Prof. R.P. Saini, Vice Chancellor of CRSU, Jind, inaugurated the program as the chief guest.
In his inaugural address, Prof. R.P. Saini said that music is the soul of Indian culture, developing sensitivity, discipline, and creativity in a person's life. He encouraged students to hone their talents through arts like music and promote Indian cultural heritage.
The highlight of the program was the captivating performance of renowned Jal Tarang player Vidushi Shashikala Dani, who mesmerized the audience. Chief Guest Prof. R.P. Saini honored Vidushi Shashikala Dani by presenting her a shawl.
Prof. Sapna Garg, coordinator of “Rang Mahotsav”, delivered the welcome address. Prof. Vimal, convener of “Rang Sur”, expressed gratitude. Under “Rang Sur”, on February 18, renowned vocalist Vidushi Sanhita Nandi from Kirana Gharana will give her wonderful performance. Dr. Saurabh Verma conducted the stage.
Prof. Harish Kumar, Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Prof. Ashish Dahiya, Sunit Mukherjee, Prof. Divya Malhan, Prof. Anju Dhiman, Prof. Savita Rathi along with MDU faculty members, research scholars, students and music lovers were present on the occasion.
