The Man Who Chased the Unknown Becomes The Biggest Mystery

Mumbai, December 8, 2025: Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming service, today released the trailer for its upcoming investigative supernatural thriller Bhay - The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery. Inspired by real events tied to the life and work of India’s first paranormal investigator, Gaurav Tiwari, the series is headlined by Karan Tacker as Gaurav Tiwari and Kalki Koechlin as Irene Venkat, and also boasts a stellar ensemble featuring Danish Sood, Saloni Batra, Shubham Chaudhary, and Nimisha Nair. Directed by Robbie Grewal, the series is inspired by and drawn from documented cases and real field paranormal investigations.

The trailer opens with a tense on-ground investigation that immediately drops the viewer into the world Gaurav once navigated. Flickers of unexplained activity, distressed calls, batteries running out, with spirits lurking around, and contradictory accounts stitch together a journey that began with him as a pilot and a life-altering experience led him to the metaphysical church in England eventually making him India’s first paranormal officer. The narrative positions his battles upfront, skepticism from peers, family concerns, and the emotional baggage of confronting the unknown, all told through real case files and field notes. Running alongside this is Irene Venkat’s arc played by Kalki Koechlin, she is an author and journalist who starts out unconvinced but is pulled into Gaurav’s world after his sudden death at the age of 32. As she retraces his last steps and revisits the investigations he left behind by penning down a book on Gaurav Tiwari and his life, the trailer hints at a larger truth about the man behind the myths and the legacy that now defines him.
