Sony SAB’s Hastinapur Ke Veer continues to bring the world of Hastinapur alive with its detailed characters and grand visual treatment. Aabhaas Mehta, who plays the powerful Jarasandh, opens up about the challenges of carrying his elaborate look, especially his knee length hair and how it helps him get into the character.
Jarasandh’s look plays an important role in helping Aabhaas connect with the character. From his long hair to the jewellery across his torso, each element adds to the larger than life presence of the character. For Aabhaas, the look is not just about appearance but an important part of his process of becoming Jarasandh.
Talking about his look Aabhaas Mehta shared, “The look of Jarasandh really helps me get into the character. It takes about an hour and a half to get ready and the makeup and dress teams work throughout the day to make sure every detail is in place. The knee length hair, the jewellery and the detailing all add to the feeling of playing a king. When I am ready and look at myself in the mirror, I don’t see Aabhaas, I see Jarasandh. The look helps me leave my normal life behind and get into his skin.”
