The interdisciplinary refresher course on “Environment Studies” 

Chandigarh, November 10, 2022: The interdisciplinary refresher course on “Environment Studies” jointly organised by the UGC Human Resource Development Center and Department of Environment Studies Panjab University, Chandigarh for the faculty from universities, colleges and research institutes started on 9th November, 2022 under the leadership of Prof. Jayanti Dutta and Dr. Rajeev Kumar.
Prof. Jagat Ram, Former Director, PGIMER was the chief guest at the inaugural  function  and Prof, Ganga Ram Chaudhary was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. In his inaugural address Prof. Ram elaborated on the various aspects related to air water and soil pollution by citing examples form the past. He emphasized on taking measures to reduce the carbon footprint.
Prof. Chaudhary emphasized on adopting measures for sustainable development. Dr. Rajeev Kumar welcomed all the 20 participants from 9 different states, 22 different institutions and with diverse disciplines. He stressed that the refresher course will provide opportunities for teachers to exchange experience with their peers and to mutually learn from each other.
