The Heritage Tourism Treasures of Ludhiana - Pictorial Visuals & Documentary released on World Tourism Day 2025
Step to promote the Tourism locations within the citizens of Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, September 27, 2025: State Information Commissioner Punjab Harpreet Sandhu , Vice Chancellor, PAU Dr Satbir Singh Gosal & Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Himanshu Jain, today released the pictorial brochures and documentary titled “The Heritage Tourism Treasures of Ludhiana”, compiled by State Information Commissioner, Punjab, Harpreet Sandhu, to mark the occasion of World Tourism Day 2025. The pictorial work meticulously showcases the significant heritage tourism sites of Ludhiana i.e. 200-year-old Maharaja Ranjit Singh Memorial, Bassian Kothi situated in Raikot, Museum of Social History of Rural Punjab in PAU Campus, and Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, Ludhiana.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Himanshu Jain , acknowledged the sincere efforts of State Information Commissioner, Punjab Harpreet Sandhu for conceptualizing unique initiative through this meticulously crafted pictorial work and short documentary highlighting Ludhiana’s significant tourism locations, as such works not only preserve our cultural identity but also serve as a source of inspiration for both residents and visitors. Vice Chancellor PAU Dr Satbir Singh Gosal said that this meaningful endeavor by State Information Commissioner, Punjab Harpreet Sandhu will certainly help promote tourism locations of Ludhiana within the schools, colleges and universities of Ludhiana.
State Information Commissioner, Punjab, Harpreet Sandhu, while sharing the purpose behind the noble initiative, said that “The idea behind compiling these brochures and documentary was to bring forth the historical and cultural treasures of Ludhiana in an engaging way, especially for the younger generation. These heritage sites stand as silent witnesses to our glorious past and must be preserved and celebrated. Through this work, we aim to encourage people to visit, value, and promote these tourism locations, thereby contributing to sustainable heritage tourism.”
Register PAU Dr Rishipal Singh , Additional Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Amarjit Bains, ADC Jagroan was also present during the event dedicated to World Tourism Day 2025.
The release of “The Heritage Tourism Treasures of Ludhiana” stands as a dedicated tribute to World Tourism Day 2025, echoing its theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” by drawing attention to heritage preservation, cultural pride, and sustainable tourism promotion in the district.
