Panchkula: The Panchkula Golf League Season 2 has entered its defining stretch as the quarterfinal stage draws to a close and the four semi-finalists are confirmed following a day of high intensity head-to-head contests at the Panchkula Golf Course.
Golfing Eagles will now face Tee Birds in the first semifinal, while the Shivalik Swingers will take on Clubs on Flames in the second semifinal scheduled for Friday (February 20). With the field narrowed to four teams, the race for the Season 2 title sharpens significantly as margins tighten and pressure intensifies.
The semifinal winners will advance to the Final to be played on Sunday (February 22) where the Season 2 champions will be crowned. The losing semi-finalists will also return to the course on Sunday to compete in the third and fourth place playoff ensuring that the closing day of the league features decisive contests across the leaderboard.
Having transitioned from the Round Robin Stableford format to the Knockout Matchplay structure, teams have had to recalibrate their strategies for direct elimination encounters featuring singles and fourball better ball matches. The quarterfinals once again underscored the importance of depth in squad selection and composure in pressure situations as teams battled across individual and paired games to secure progression.
With two weeks of league play now distilled into a final weekend, only four contenders remain in pursuit of the title. Form, consistency and tactical execution will now determine which two teams earn the right to contest Sunday’s Final and which sides will fight for podium honours.
