The Browser, Book Club established in  Doaba College

Jalandhar, July 11, 2023: Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari of Doaba College Jalandhar said that in order to inculcate the reading culture and enable the students to look beyond the curriculum, a book club named The Browser has been established in college. Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, inaugurated the club by untying the ribbon of a collection of new books.

 Dr. Pardeep Bhandari discussed in detail about the dangers of over-exposure of students  to the social media and unnecessary cell phone addiction. He told them that books are the perfect antidote to these problems. He said that the club- The Browser is an attempt to provide a common platform to students and teachers to come together and share their responses as readers. A short story titled ‘The Last Leaf’ by O. Henry, an American author, was discussed by the students. The students talked about the thematic, symbolic and philosophical dimensions of the story. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Namrata Nistandra, Coordinator of the Book Club.
