The Alumni Association of SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana celebrated their famous alumnus Sahir Ludhianvi’s 105th Birth Anniversary in the college. College’s own alumnus Shivdular Singh Dhillon IAS (Retd.) now Secretary -Cum-Chief Executive Indian Red Cross, Punjab presided. A lot of alumni and teachers were present.

Ludhiana, March 8, 2026: The Alumni Association of SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana celebrated their famous alumnus Sahir Ludhianvi’s 105th Birth Anniversary in the college. College’s own alumnus Shivdular Singh Dhillon IAS (Retd.) now Secretary -Cum-Chief Executive Indian Red Cross, Punjab presided. A lot of alumni and teachers were present.
The event includes echoing the famous poet and Bollywood lyricist’s popular songs by alumni supported by Afreen Musical group besides discussion on Sahir’s progressive literary heritage.
Those who discussed Sahir’s poetry include Ravinder Vatsyan, Prof P K Sharma, Prof P D Gupta, Manjit Singh Badhan and Dr Avinash Sharma from Canada.
Poems on International Women day too were recited.
The Compering was jointly done by Brij Bhushan Goyal and O P Verma to the applause of everyone.
Shivdular Singh Dhillon announced two special computers and software for the visually impaired and disabled students of the college.
Prof Ashok Kapoor and Prof P K Sharma gifted competition Examinations books worth Rs.15,000 on the occasion for the college.
