Tewari accuses Akalis of diverting funds meant for Ludhiana development

Ludhiana, February 2, 2014:  Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and Ludhiana MP Manish Tewari today accused the ruling Akali-BJP government in the state of not only ignoring Ludhiana in terms of development but also diverting the development funds from the city to other places.
Addressing a public meeting at Haibbowal, organised by the local councillor Hemraj Aggarwal here today, Tewari said, while the state government had mostly been indifferent towards the city, it was being hostile to the areas represented by the Congress.
The minister maintained that even the funds granted by the central government were either diverted for other purposes or were not accounted for. He said, five years have passed since he got RS 50 crores from the Planning Commission of India for the cleaning of the Buddha Nullah but what to speak of cleaning the nullah the state government just misappropriated the entire amount.
The Ludhiana MP expressed his gratitude to the people for showering. Immense love and honour on him. He appealed to them to support him again to serve them once more. He stated that he was touched by the love and warmth given by the people to him in Ludhiana.
He cautioned the people against the sectarian and divisive forces who were raising their ugly head. He reminded people about the dark days of terrorism when people were scared to venture out of their homes. He said, that sectarian and divisive forces were capable of only creating fear in the minds of people.
