Teeyan Festival Celebrated with Enthusiasm at the Department of Evening Studies PU
Department of Evening Studies, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh celebrated the Teeyan Festival, in which approximately 250 students participated. The objective of the programme was to connect students with the rich cultural traditions of Punjab and the neighbouring states.
Chandigarh, August 21, 2026: Department of Evening Studies, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh celebrated the Teeyan Festival, in which approximately 250 students participated. The objective of the programme was to connect students with the rich cultural traditions of Punjab and the neighbouring states.
Chairperson, Prof. Neeraj Sharma attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Prof. Gurpreet Kaur Gill, Prof. Simran Kaur, Prof . Suman Makkar, and Prof. Kritivardhan, along with other faculty members were present.
The students performed Giddha, Haryanvi folk dances, and Himachali folk dances. The performances by the students reflected the spirit of unity, cultural diversity, and joy associated with Teeyan.
On the occasion, Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan, Dr. Nirmal, Dr. Irfan Mohammad, Dr. Alka, and Dr. Gurjot, alongwith with several other faculty members, were also present and extended their support in making the programme a success.
The Teeyan celebration proved to be a memorable and colourful occasion for everyone.
