Teen Sets Inspiring Example of Social Responsibility
Donates Profits from Fundraiser to NGO for Promoting Mental Health Awareness
Chandigarh, February 2, 2026: Setting a powerful example of youth leadership, sensitivity, and social commitment, 18-year-old Chandigarh entrepreneur and former Carmelite, Shaina Mittal, has donated profit from a fund raiser organised recently by her to Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) Vatsal Chaya Trust. The fund amounting to Rs 1 lakh will be used for promoting mental health awareness, under the NGO’s ‘Sakushal Project’.
Handing over the contribution to the Trust, Shaina conveyed a strong message that success is truly meaningful only when it contributes to the welfare of society. Shaina remarked, “I had promised that the profit I generate from the fund raiser will be donated for Vatsal Chhaya’s ‘Sukushal Project’ and I am feeling happy that I have honoured the commitment I made.”
It is noteworthy that in December last year, Shaina Mittal organized a special Christmas fundraiser focused on mental health. The objective of the initiative was to set rolling a discussion around the growing mental health challenges faced by young people and to mobilize support for the cause. After meeting operational expenses, the remaining amount of Rs. 1 lakh was donated to Vatsal Chaya Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaina Mittal said that the initiative was inspired by her own experiences while studying in the United States. She shared that after dealing with feelings of loneliness and anxiety, she decided to return to Chandigarh and channel her energy in a positive direction by establishing her event management company, Reveliq Events. According to Shaina, alongside entrepreneurship, her constant goal has been to raise awareness about sensitive issues like mental health and to emotionally empower young people.
She further noted that today’s youth are deeply immersed in social media and fast-paced lifestyles, where the pressure for instant gratification often overshadows values such as struggle, patience, and resilience. In such a scenario, open conversations around mental strength and emotional balance have become the need of the hour.
Shaina also shared that under the ‘Sakushal Project’, she will collaborate with Vatsal Chaya Trust Founder Sangeeta Vardhan to organize a year-long series of podcasts, webinars, and awareness sessions. These programmes will be conducted both online and offline in schools and colleges.
Through the ‘Sakushal’ initiative, the Trust aims to strengthen emotional intelligence, mental resilience, and positive thinking among youth. Notably, Vatsal Chaya Trust is a registered, all-India non-profit organization that works continuously to empower underprivileged urban children and women, helping them break free from exploitative and inhumane circumstances.
