Technology Enabling Centre -PU, SPSTI and CRIKC organized National Technology Day on 11th May 2023 at Panjab University, Chandigarh. On this auspicious day, the honourable Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Prof. Renu Vig honoured 14 faculty members of Panjab University who successfully realized grant of 8 Patents in the name of Panjab University in the financial year 2022-23.

Chandigarh, May 11, 2023: Technology Enabling Centre -PU, SPSTI and CRIKC organized National Technology Day today at Panjab University, Chandigarh. On this auspicious day, the honourable Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Prof. Renu Vig honoured 14 faculty members of Panjab University who successfully realized grant of 8 Patents in the name of Panjab University in the financial year 2022-23.

Prof. Seema Kapoor from Dr.S.S.B. University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology was honoured with certificate of appreciation and cash award of Rs.11000/- for a patent titled “Fluorine and zinc Co-substituted mesoporous hydroxyapatite nanopowder and method thereof” granted jointly to Panjab University and Punjab Engineering College on 7th September 2022.

Dr. Rohit Sharma from Department of Microbial Biotechnology and Dr. Monika Sharma from Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, were honoured with certificate of appreciation and cash prize of Rs. 5500/- each for their patent titled “Improved culture medium for nitrile hydrolyzing microbes” granted on 25th  August 2022.

Prof.  Sanjay Chhibber and Prof. Kusum Harjaifrom the Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, were awarded with certificate of appreciation and cash award of Rs. 5500/- each for the patenttitled “Method for bacterial cell lysis and bacteriophage DNA isolation”grantedon10th October 2022.

Prof. Om Prakash Katare from the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, was honoured with certificate of appreciation and cash award of Rs.11000/- for a patent titled “Topical etodolac vesicular composition for pain associated inflammatory disease and disorders”granted on 29th September 2022. Prof. Bhupinder Singh from University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, also contributed to this invention and was honoured with certificate of appreciation.

Prof. Archana Bhatnagar from the Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University was honoured with certificate of appreciation and cash award of Rs.11000/- for a patent titled “Composition and system for transdermal delivery” granted on 3th August 2022.

Prof. Indu Pal Kaur and Prof. Kanwaljit Chopra from University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Parveen Rishi from Department of Microbiology and Prof. Sanjeev Puri from University Institute of Engineering & Technology (Biotechnology Engineering Branch), Panjab University, were honoured with certificate of appreciation each for their patent titled “Process for encapsulating macrobiomolecules in solid lipid nanoparticles” granted on 20thMarch 2023. Prof. Indu Pal Kaur was also honoured with certificate of appreciation for her patent titled “Topical curcumin formulation” granted on 11th January 2023.
 
Prof. Maninder Karan and Prof. Renu Chadha from University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University were honoured with certificate of appreciation for their patent titled “Multicomponent form of dacarbazine with improved stability and efficacy” granted on 19thJanuary 2023.
