TECHNICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT ROPES IN IIT ROPAR,NIT JALANDHAR AND NIPER FOR ANNUAL AFFILIATION INSPECTION OF VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS: HARJOT SINGH BAINS

Chandigarh, February 28, 2023:

          The Punjab Technical education department ropes in IIT Ropar,NIT Jalandhar and NIPER for annual affiliation inspection of various institutions of the state.

          Disclosing this here today Technical education minister Punjab Mr. Harjot Singh Bains said that Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training (PSBTE&IT) has been granting affiliations annually to various Polytechnic and Pharmacy institutes in the State as per guidelines of AICTE & Pharmacy Council of India respectively.

          He said  there are around 100 polytechnics and 109 pharmacy institutes in the State of Punjab & UT Chandigarh. As per the vision of Mr. Bhagwant Mann,  Chief Minister Punjab,  To minimize the human interaction and bring transparency in the affiliation process, Department has  launched an online affiliation portal for PSBTE from the session 2023-24.

           Technical Education Minister said  after discussion with chairperson Punjab state Board of technical education Mrs. Seema Jain, department has took an initiative to involve reputed institutes of the State like IIT Ropar, NIT Jalandhar and NIPER for the annual affiliation inspection of various institutes this year.

          Bains said it shall improve the quality and fairness of annual affiliation inspections carried out by PSBTE. These reputed institutes shall carry out annual affiliation inspections on behalf of PSBTE from 28.02.2023 to 23.03.2023 by engaging their senior faculty. Involvement of these institutes shall go a long way in reducing the numerous complaints received by the Board related with the affiliation process and shall help in implementing national standards of infrastructure in the State institutes.
