Teachers Day celebrated by PUZS, PU

Chandigarh: Panjab University Zoological Society (PUZS) organised a virtual programme on the occasion of Teachers Day celebration. The programme was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal by the faculty and students of the department. The main attraction of the evening were the retired teachers of this department who joined the meeting, to name few among them were senior most professor PK Mittal, Prof. RC Sobti former Vice Chancellor Panjab University and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, Prof. T. Gill, (Ex-Dean Alumni Association, Panjab University), Prof. CL Duggal (Ex member of senate, PU) etc.

The program started with welcome note by the chairperson. To relive the old memories and make the retired faculty feel homely, a small video clip depicting the old glimpses of the department was played on the occasion. The students expressed their gratitude to the beloved teachers with the theme  “My teachers , My Hero’s” through speech, video, presentations and poems. 

On the request of senior teachers Prof. VK Walia sang old melodious song which was cheered by the students and teachers. In the end each senior teacher blessed the students and staff with their words of encouragement and wisdom which was followed by chit chat about the various activities going in the department and students expressed how much they are missing their department. Overall, it was very a fun filled and learning experience.
