Taxation officials run awareness drive on OTS scheme and Mera Bill App
On the directions of the Taxation Commissioner Arshdeep Singh Thind and the Deputy Commissioner, state GST, Darvir Raj Kaur, the department has launched an awareness campaign to sensitize about One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme and Mera Bill app.
Ludhiana, February 7, 2024: On the directions of the Taxation Commissioner Arshdeep Singh Thind and the Deputy Commissioner, state GST, Darvir Raj Kaur, the department has launched an awareness campaign to sensitize about One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme and Mera Bill app.
A spokesperson said that OTS camps were being held by field officers in Ludhiana division for sensitising the dealers to avail the one-time settlement scheme launched by the government of Punjab. He said that door-to-door drive being carried out by the departmental officials to generate awareness. He said that dealers were also being contacted telephonically and physically for encouraging them to avail the benefit of the one-time settlement scheme. Under the scheme, the dealer can deposit half of the tax demanded and the interest and the penalty will be waived off.
Similarly, the sensitization of Mira Bill app was also being done on large scale among the people. He said that an inspection was conducted on a departmental store located at Jassian Road, Haibowal. The dealer had a regular registration with the GSTN but he was not displaying the GSTN number on the bills which he was issuing to the customers. Later, an inspection was conducted on the dealer there and then he was confronted with the tax evasion.
