Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Actress Tanisha Mukerji is set to return to the big screen after nearly five years with filmmaker Kapil Kaustubh Sharma’s upcoming film Zindagi Phir Bhi Khoobsurat Hai. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s Parsi community, the film spans several decades, from the 1990s to 2025.
Blending romance, humour and emotions, the film explores changing relationships and the different stages of life. According to director Kapil Kaustubh Sharma, Tanisha’s emotional depth was essential to the character. He believes the actress has brought a distinctive sensitivity to the narrative through her performance.
To maintain authenticity, the film was shot in actual Parsi homes in South Mumbai and Dadar Parsi Colony. Kapil worked closely with members of the Parsi community to gain a deeper understanding of their culture, language and lifestyle.
Besides directing the film, Kapil has also written, produced and acted in it. The film features an ensemble cast, including Sushmita Mukherjee, Kitu Gidwani, Delnaaz Irani, Tannaz Irani and others.
Inspired by a popular song from the 1978 film Khatta Meetha, the title carries a special significance. Before its theatrical release, the makers are planning to take the film to international film festivals.
