Tanda medical college organizes workshop on Tb eradication

Dharamshala, August 9, 2019: A workshop on Revised Technical & Operational Guidelines (TOG) and Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (PMDT) guidelines was organized by the State Task Force for Tuberculosis at Dr RPGMC Tanda in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine of the Institute.
Inaugurating the workshop, Dr Bhanu Awasthi, Principal Dr RPGMC Tanda said, “The deliberations of the workshop will be of immense help to health care providers in achieving the goal of the removing the scourge of Tuberculosis from the state and the country as envisaged by our Government.”
Dr Ashok Kumar Bhardwaj, Chairman Zonal Task Force (North Zone) and State Task Force (HP) on revised national tuberculosis control program (RNTCP) and Dr Ravinder Kumar, WHO Consultant for Tuberculosis, appraised the delegates on the latest developments and changes in treatment guidelines for Tuberculosis, with special emphasis on Multi drug resistant tuberculosis.
Dr Bhardwaj said that such workshops were an effort to keep all treatment providers abreast with the new developments in the field of Tuberculosis, and such efforts would finally help in achieving the goal of making the state TB free by 2021.
The workshop was attended by about 50 faculty members and residents delegates from different departments of the college.
