Mumbai (Anil Bedag): The much-anticipated biopic on the visionary filmmaker, actor and cinematic reformist V. Shantaram has already become the talk of the industry. After the announcement of Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead role, the makers have now unveiled another major update — Tamannaah Bhatia will portray the iconic actress Jayshree on screen.
The newly released poster shows Tamannaah draped in a pink Nauvari saree, capturing the grace, elegance and traditional Marathi beauty of the golden era of Indian cinema. Jayshree, remembered for her remarkable performances in classics like Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Shakuntala, Chandrarrao More and Dahej, was not only a celebrated actress but also V. Shantaram’s second wife and a creative collaborator.
Speaking about the role, Tamannaah shared,
“Bringing such a timeless personality to life on screen is both an honor and a responsibility.”
Directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, the film aims to depict Shantaram’s cinematic revolution from the silent era to the golden age of Indian cinema.
