Nandita is a perfectionistic, a woman whose life is governed by deep-seated fears and unresolved emotional trauma. Polite and reclusive, Nandita’s character is a poignant reflection of how mental health struggles often remain unseen behind closed doors.
Talking about joining the show and her character, Gauri Tonnk shared, “When I first heard the story of Itti Si Khushi, I was immediately drawn to its simplicity and emotional richness. It’s not loud or over-the-top; it’s delicate, honest, and rooted in emotions. My character, Nandita Mehta, is someone who appears composed on the outside but is constantly grappling with her inner world, a world filled with anxiety, overthinking. There is a underlying emotional stress she is dealing with all her anxiety over the years and fear is due to that. We'll see how she deals with it"
