Swachh Survekshan Gramin-2021 to start from Dec 10 to Jan 10: DC Vishesh Sarangal
Nawanshahr, December 4, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Friday said that the Swachh Survekshan Gramin-2021 would be held from December 10, 2021 to January 10, 2022 in the district.
Presiding over a meeting to review the implementation of the district water and sanitation mission here at the District Administrative Complex today, the Deputy Commissioner said that Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2021 would be conducted by an independent survey agency to develop ranking of all districts and states across India on the basis of quantitative and qualitative sanitation parameters.
He said that the survey agency would assess the cleanliness and sanitation including plastic waste management, Liquid and Solid Waste management. Besides, the agency would also look after Open Defecation Free plus status in rural areas.
Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure maximum participation of the people in making their villages’ clean, green and open defecation free by personally motivating them. He also asked them to make public announcements through Gurdwaras, temples and other ways to aware the people about the importance of cleanliness so that villages of the district can get good ranking in the survey.
He said that it is the dream of the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to make state clean and open defecation free. He said that the district administration has been making concerted efforts to ensure that no stone is left unturned for this noble cause.
Prominent among present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Amardeep Singh Bains, SDOs Manjeet Singh and Hardeep Singh from Rural Water Supply and Sanitation and officers from Rural Development and Panchayat, Health and other Departments.
