Dharamshala, June 24, 2015: Sushma Verma, leading women cricketer from the land of Gods, Himachal Pradesh has been selected in the Indian squad for ODI and T20 matches to be played against the visiting New Zealand team.
Anurag Thakur, President, HPCA congratulated Sushma and said, “Our best wishes are with Sushma. She has taken women’s cricket to a new height in the state and I am sure other young women cricketers will follow her footsteps. Her selection for the series testifies her dedication hard work and potential.”
Sushma Verma is a right-hand batswoman and a wicket-keeper. She has represented India and Himachal Pradesh in various national and international tournaments.
The Women’s Selection Committee met in Bengaluru earlier to pick the probables for the ODI series between India and New Zealand, and the India ‘A’ squad for the warm-up game against New Zealand.
