Suraj Pratap Singh on Playing Multiple Looks in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani : “Every Look Gave Me Something New to Explore”

For Suraj Pratap Singh, who plays Prem in Sun Neo’s Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, the show has given him the chance to do exactly that. From playing an Asur and a Raja to Naag Kumar, a Genie and several other characters, Suraj has explored a variety of looks and personalities, making his journey on the show all the more exciting.

Mumbai, September 9, 2026: For an actor, stepping into a new look can often mean stepping into a completely different world. For Suraj Pratap Singh, who plays Prem in Sun Neo’s Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, the show has given him the chance to do exactly that. From playing an Asur and a Raja to Naag Kumar, a Genie and several other characters, Suraj has explored a variety of looks and personalities, making his journey on the show all the more exciting.
Talking about his experience of experimenting with these different looks, Suraj Pratap Singh shared, "Playing so many different looks on the show has been a really fun experience for me because every look gave me something new to explore. I played an Asur, a Raja, Naag Kumar, a Genie and several other characters. One of my favourites was when Divya and I dressed up as Sardars. She played a boy and I played her father, and that track had a lot of variation. There were emotional scenes as well as some really funny moments, so I genuinely enjoyed playing that look."
He further added, "The Kaala Jinn was also very interesting because I actually tried to copy the actor who originally played the character. I observed the way he spoke, his accent and his mannerisms, and before doing my scenes, I would ask him how he would perform them. I then tried to bring those little details into my performance. These experiences made the different looks much more than just a change in costume—they gave me a chance to experiment with my performance."
He also said, "At the same time, some looks were quite challenging. Playing the Asur was physically demanding because I had to shout a lot, and by the end of the track, I had completely lost my voice. The Ashwar character was challenging in a different way because I had to look extremely evil while also bringing back the softer, emotional side of Prem. Balancing both sides of the character was difficult, but that is also what made it exciting for me."
