SUPVA Students Set the Ramp Ablaze as ‘SUTRAM’ Design Fest Concludes in Style

Rohtak, August 14, 2026: The three-day design festival ‘SUTRAM’ at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) concluded on Friday evening with a spectacular fashion show, where 47 students confidently walked the ramp showcasing their design and presentation skills in traditional and contemporary Indian ensembles, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The fashion show, held at the Ramp Hall of the Design Building, was attended by social worker Rajesh Jain, VC CDLU Sirsa Prof. Vijay Kumar and social worker Saumya Grover as special guests. Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya welcomed the guests and presented them with mementoes. Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik Manocha was also present.

The show began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a Ganesh Vandana, followed by a series of student presentations. Spread over nearly two hours, the show featured three rounds in which students presented outfits designed by them. Their extensive preparations under the guidance of professional choreographers were clearly reflected in their confident catwalk performances.

Adding vibrant cultural colours to the event, SUPVA students presented Rajasthani, Haryanvi and Punjabi dance performances between the fashion-show rounds. Colourful lighting, energetic music and well-coordinated movements created an electrifying atmosphere. The students’ posture, confidence, eye contact and expressions further enhanced their performances.

A key highlight of the show was that the costumes and outfits displayed on the ramp were also designed and created by SUPVA students themselves. From conceptualising and designing the ensembles to presenting them on the ramp, the entire process reflected their creativity, hard work and design sensibilities. Through the specially crafted outfits, the students confidently brought their creative vision before the audience.

To enable visitors to enjoy the performances from outside the Ramp Hall, a large screen was installed for a live telecast of the fashion show. With this grand finale, ‘SUTRAM’ concluded its three-day journey on a high note, celebrating art, design, fashion and the creative talent of SUPVA students.
