SUPVA Students’ Etchings Selected for National Printmaking Show

Rohtak, October 1, 2026: Three students of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, have earned national recognition with their etching prints selected for a National Printmaking Exhibition in Ahmedabad.

The exhibition will be held from October 23 to November 1 at Urmila Art Gallery, Kanoria Centre for Arts, as part of Ahmedabad Cultural Week. The works will be showcased under the theme ‘Human Footprints on a Warming Earth’, exploring the relationship between human activity, the environment and a changing planet.

The selected students—Sagar, Yashika and Deepak, fourth-year students of the Department of Painting, Faculty of Visual Arts—will showcase their etching prints alongside works by artists using printmaking as their primary medium.

FC Visual Arts FC Vinay Kumar said the selection was a significant achievement for the students and reflected the department’s focus on practice-based art education and experimentation with contemporary printmaking.

The students met SUPVA Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya and shared the news of their selection. Congratulating them, Dr Arya said, “Selection at the national level is a matter of pride for the entire SUPVA family.” He encouraged the students to continue exploring contemporary social and environmental concerns through their artistic practice.

Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik Manocha said participation in a professionally curated national exhibition would provide the students valuable exposure and experience at the national level.
