SUPVA celebrates Independence Day; VC Dr. Arya urges students to contribute to nation-building
The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Vice Chancellor Dr Amit Arya hoisted the national flag in the presence of faculty, staff and students.

Rohtak, August 15, 2026: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Vice Chancellor Dr Amit Arya hoisted the national flag in the presence of faculty, staff and students.
Before the ceremony, Dr Arya paid floral tribute to Surya Kavi Dada Lakhmi Chand by garlanding his statue. Security In-charge Captain Prem Singh and security personnel then presented a guard of honour to the Vice Chancellor.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Arya remembered the sacrifices of freedom fighters and urged the SUPVA community to draw inspiration from their courage, discipline and spirit of service. He called upon faculty, staff and students to contribute to nation-building through knowledge, innovation, research and social responsibility, while working collectively to take the university to greater heights.
Architecture student Keshav added patriotic fervour to the event with guitar performances. In accordance with national protocol, ‘Vande Mataram’ was sung collectively before the national anthem.
VC Dr Arya also presented merit certificates to Visual Arts students who created rangolis under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The programme was conducted by Assistant Professor Supri Maheshwari.
Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik Manocha, Dean Academic Affairs Dr Ajay Kaushik, FC Faculty of Film and Television Mahesh TP, FC Planning and Architecture Ajaybahu Joshi, Vinay Kumar of Visual Arts and Dr Shelly Khanna of Fashion Design also addressed the gathering.
