Sunil Kumar, Addl. Member (Production Units), Railway Board, visited Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala on Saturday to review the production activities and manufacturing facilities of the factory.
Kapurthala, August 22, 2026: Sunil Kumar, Addl. Member (Production Units), Railway Board, visited Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala on Saturday to review the production activities and manufacturing facilities of the factory.
On his arrival at RCF, Ajay Nandan, General Manager, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, warmly welcomed and greeted Sunil Kumar.
Sunil Kumar thereafter undertook a detailed inspection of various production facilities of RCF. He first visited the Sheet Metal Shop, where he inspected the functioning of machines and later visited the Shell Assembly Shop to inspect the coach shell production and jigs facility.
The Addl. Member (PU) subsequently reviewed a MEMU rake under production and inspected the Bangladesh Railway rake focusing especially on seat testing through XRF. He also inspected the Vande Bharat Trainset Bogie Units at the designated line near the Wheel Shop.
After completion of the workshop inspection, a meeting was held with the General Manager and senior officers of RCF. During the meeting, Shri Sunil Kumar was given a detailed presentation highlighting the activities, production programmes and achievements of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Various matters concerning production, quality, technological advancements , vendor development and ongoing projects were also discussed. Atul Singh, Principal Executive Director (Production Units) and Deepak Tripathi, Director/ Technical (RITES) were also present on the occasion.
Sunil Kumar appreciated the efforts of RCF in maintaining high standards of manufacturing and quality while undertaking important production programmes including Bangladesh Railway coaches, MEMU coaches and Vande Bharat trainsets. He interacted with the senior officers and emphasised the continued focus on quality, safety, innovation and timely achievement of production targets.
Sunil Kumar also held an interaction with representatives of the recognised union and associations of RCF. He gave patient hearing to the issues and demands raised by the representatives and paid special attention to their concerns.
