Sultanpur Lodhi MLA Navtej Singh Cheema slams Harsimrat Kaur Badal for misleading people

Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala), August 18, 2019: Sultanpur Lodhi MLA Navtej Singh Cheema today slammed central minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal for misleading the people by unnecessarily criticising the state government over slow pace of developmental works being carried in Sultanpur Lodhi in wake of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

“It is the cheap tactic to come into limelight by claiming credit of works just two/three months before the anniversary celebrations,” Cheema said adding that, “central minister should visit this place every week and the state government will extend red carpet for her. It is very unfortunate and discouraging for the state machinery to criticise without any logic. The whole machinery is working with full dedication and spirit despite of all oddities.”

Central minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal after visiting the Sultanpur Lodhi has showed her concern over slow pace of developmental works being carried out, recently.

“At present 36 projects worth Rs.200 crores are being undertaken by state government on war footing and most of the projects are over 60 to 80percent complete. The bad weather is proving as a hindrance for many projects and once the weather is clear, these all will be completed on scheduled time,” Cheema said.

Hailing central minister’s visit to Sultanpur Lodhi, Cheema urged her to visit this holy town in every week but with a developmental project from union government.

“With weekly visit she can be in better position to judge pace of development being carried out here. Isn’t it strange that Bibi Badal had never tried to show her concern over the facilities being extended to the visiting sangat,” Cheema said.

Cheema further added that the CM Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh had many times appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide grants for the anniversary celebrations but for no results. “Wish, central minister play vital role in this direction and manage to bring a developmental package from the union government,” Cheema said.
