Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa announces to donate 30 percent salary each month until Covid fund is in existence

Chandigarh: Making his contribution in the Chief Minister's Covid relief fund established owing to corona virus, the Cooperation and Jails Minister, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today announced that he would contribute 30 percent of his salary to the Covid relief fund each month until the fund remains in existence. Earlier, in March, the Cooperation Minister had donated his one month salary to the fund.
In a press communique here today, the minister said that the State Government is shouldering a huge responsibility of making adequate healthcare related arrangements besides providing essential supplies to the people owing to the cutfew/lockdown which was imposed to combat corona virus disease. He also said that as of now, the economy is not in that fine a shape and the income of the State Exchequer has also been reduced. That explains why the State Government has constituted Chief Minister's Covid Relief Fund.
S. Randhawa also performed Ardas today on the occasion of Baisakhi for the welfare of all and prayed to the almighty to keep the community in high spirits. He said that it is significant for us to follow the instructions issued by the Government and the health advisories too.

: The Punjab Government in the leadership of Chief Minster Captain Amarinder Singh is fighting an all out war against deadly Corona Virus pandemic in the State. Mr. Navtej Singh Cheema MLA from Sultanpur Lodhi constituency has announced to contribute 30 percent of his basic salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Next six months.
Mr. Cheema in a press release issued here today said that Punjab was already facing financial crunch due to the burden put by the earlier regime, but now due to the Corona Virus pandemic the financial situation of the state has worsened more. The state government needs huge amount of funds to fight the battle against Corona.  He said that Punjab Government is already using its all resources to save the lives of people from this deadly virus. Now due to lockdown all sources of income to the state government have stopped therefore people have to come forward to help the state government in this crisis situation.
The government needs lot of money to purchase medicines, ventilators and other medical equipments to save the lives of people. Being a responsible citizen of the state he has decided to contribute 30 percent of his basic salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He also appealed to other MLA’s and the people of the state to come forward to contribute maximum to CM’s Relief Fund to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister in the fight against COVID-19.
