Chandigarh, December 31, 2013: It was an exciting hang out on the eve of New Year for students from remote and rural villages of Hoshiarpur who came out for sightseeing at Vidhan Sabha, Civil Secretariat and High Court building. Organised by Avinash Rai Khanna, MP Rajya Sabha  , the guided tour of mostly the students from Government Schools and underprivileged sections of society was an enriching and exhilarating experience for the visitors who were awed and amused by the sheer magnificence of the Le Corbusier’s Architectural wonders. Khanna was accompanied by Dy Speaker Punjab Dinseh Singh Babbu, Asst Media Advisor Punjab Vineet Joshi and Chairman Punjab Forest Corporation Vijay Sampla.
While excited students could barely hide their excitement, it was  a matter of great pride and surprise for them as the grandeur of the highest seats of power and politics laid unraveled in front of them all. After Vidhan Sabha, the kids were taken around to Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake and other monumental landmarks of the city beautiful by Avinash Rai Khanna himself. Khanna accosted the kids with various aspects of functioning of Vidhan Sabha as the kids were taken around the most unique building of legislatures of Punjab and Haryana. Students were informed about the way houses operate and MLAs perform their vital duties. Photographic opportunities were fully utilised by kids in front of the buildings.
Speaking about the tour Khanna informed that it was his commitment to the kids of Garhshankar, Nawanshahar and Hoshiarpur which he fulfilled by way of organising this guided tour. Since rural students of Punjab hardly get to know the important places of power in Chandigarh, I felt they must have their fair share of opportunity to witness the actual places.// punjab news live, punjab news online, punjab news, punjab news headlines, punjab breaking news, india news, punjab news,
