Jalandhar, September 29, 2019: The students of Masters in Tourism Management (MTM) stream of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar today celebrated World Tourism Day.
Chief Guest for the program, Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra, appreciated the efforts behind the occasion which is also observed by United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) every year on September 27th in order to raise awareness about the various socio-economic, cultural environmental benefits of tourism for the world community. It was also mentioned that India will be hosting World Tourism Day-2019 this year with the theme ‘Tourism and Jobs’ a better future for all. As a part of the program, various events including Poster making, Rangoli, Speech, Presentation, and Tourism Models were held. Various posters were made by the participants on the theme of “Incredible India” Tourism Destination of India, Adventure sports and top ten tourism countries of the world. The students also delivered speech presentation on ‘Atithi Devo Bhavah’ Golden Triangle and Incredible India among others whilst tourism related models were also demonstrated by the students. These included ‘Palace on Wheels’ Airport, Mountain Resort’ whereas a Rangoli on the theme of world tourism day was also a part of display.
On this occasion, Principal Dr.Samra also inaugurated the newly formed ‘Tourism Club’ of MTM Department and appreciated the efforts put in by Prof.Vineet Kumar, MTM Department and the students for this particular event.
Prof. Manish Goel, Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Prof.Amarbir Bhalla, Prof. Radha were also present on this occasion.
