Students get lessons in personality development

A two-day personality development programme for MSc and MBA students concluded at the Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni. Over 120 students participated in the programme which was organised by the Students' Welfare Organization with support from the Department of Business Management of the University. The objective of the training was to teach the participants to work with different professionals and groups and enhance their communication and interpersonal skills.

Manjula Sularia, Life Skills Coach of the Chandigarh based ‘The Transformers- Value Creators conducted the training through different indoor and outdoor sessions. Various topics like confidence and attitude building, behaviour and mannerism, personality and grooming, employability skills, communication, stress and anger management, social values and ethics, team building and leadership were covered through practicals and student engagement activities.

In his address, Students’ Welfare Officer Dr Kulwant Rai Sharma spoke on the role of a good personality in building a successful career. He urged the students to enjoy the different sessions, which will not only give them a chance to learn valuable lessons but also help to bond with fellow students.

Programme co-ordinator and Head, Department of Business Management, Dr KK Raina also spoke on the occasion. He was off the view that students need to implement the skills learned during the programme to improve their confidence, communication and social skills as these are necessary for both professional and personal lives. Dr Vineet Sharma from the Students’ Welfare Office and the faculty of the Business Management department were also present during the programme.
