Students of DAV College made Rakhis for Indian soldiers

Jalandhar, August 12, 2019: The wrists won't stay empty for the soldiers protecting our nation on the borders. Students of DAV College Jalandhar made Rakhis for our country's army men.

DAV College Commerce Forum organised a Rakhi making competition for our army personnel working on the border of the country. On this occasion Chief guest principal' Dr SK Arora' and Vice Principal Prof VK Sareen, Vice Principal Prof Arun Mehra, President Commerce Forum Prof Komal Soni and President of Press Club Prof. 'Manish Khanna' were present.

Principal Dr SK Arora said it is our duty as a citizen to make our soldier brothers realise that their country loves them and sending rakhi to them is the best way to showcase our emotions. Dr Arora further said it is the occasion of rakhi which makes every brother feel acknowledged and loved and if we can do that once in a year it will boost morale of our Indian army. In the end Principal Dr SK Arora sent his regards and well wishes to the army of India.

Vice Principal Prof V K Sareen informed that the students who made handmade rakhi wrote letters to the Indian Army and their messages were also delivered by FM radio. This raksha bhandhan should be fully dedicated to those people who spend day and night on the borders to protect our nation.

Prof. Komal Soni said that there are so many female students who don't have any brother to tie a rakhi, same condition would be there on the border area where some of our fauji brothers won't be having a sister who can tie them rakhi because of which DAV College is sending them handmade rakhis. We also pray for the safety of our army who sheds blood and sweat for our country's safety.

During this, students made amazing rakhi's and Kamalpreet, a student of B.com 5th semester got First prize , Vanshika got second , hardiyangna got third, Vanshika Seth from B.Voc got fourth prize and Komal from B.com 5th semester got 6th prize.

In Slogan Writing:
Karan from B.com got first prize, Mrinal from M.com got second prize, Prerna kohli from B.com got third prize and Vani sharma from B.com got fourth prize.

After all this, Students of B.com First year 'Arsh Khanna' and 'Piyush Goyal' sang a heartwarming song ' Phoolon ka taaron ka' & 'Aye Mere Watan ke Logon'.

Students also tied rakhi to the Principal, teachers and the other staff of DAV College Jalandhar. In the end principal offered sweets to all the students and staff and praised about DAV Institution's Contribution in success.

During this, Dr. S K Tuli , Prof. Ashok Kapoor, Prof. Amit Jain and other Professors and students were also present.
