Chandigarh, February 21, 2026: Bringing laurels to the institution, Livjot from M.Sc. Food & Nutrition secured First position while Navneet from B.Sc. Home Science clinched second position in the Inter-College Debate Competition organized by the Punjabi Department of PGGC-11 in collaboration with Punjabi Sahitya Sabha on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

The event aimed to foster respect for linguistic heritage and inspire students to take pride in their cultural roots. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from various colleges, with speakers highlighting the importance of preserving one’s mother tongue. Both students impressed the judges through their clarity of thought, structured arguments, and persuasive delivery.

The Principal of Government Home Science College, Prof. Sudha Katyal, congratulated the achievers on their commendable performance and appreciated their efforts in upholding the spirit of linguistic and cultural pride.
