An Apsara’s beauty has inspired countless stories. But what happens when she becomes the one who stands between an ancient power and those who seek to possess it? Star Plus has unveiled the first look of its upcoming supernatural fantasy saga Apsara, starring Samiksha Jaiswal and Paras Kalnawat, premiering on 21 October at 10:30 PM on Star Plus and JioHotstar. Produced by Mukta Dhond, the show also features Anushka Merchande, Adaa Khan, Avika Gor, Mona Vasu & Poorva Gokhale
Drawing inspiration from the mythology of Samudra Manthan, which brought forth the Apsaras and Amrit, the story imagines that the precious elixir was never destroyed. It continues to be guarded by the Apsaras. With evil forces now eyeing the Amrit Kalash, its guardians must protect it from falling into the wrong hands. The first look offers a glimpse of Apsara’s power, building curiosity about the woman entrusted with protecting this ancient secret.
Samiksha Jaiswal says, “There is something exciting about playing an Apsara whose story goes beyond her beauty. I play Sunehri, who has the extraordinary responsibility of protecting the Amrit from evil forces. At the same time, she has people she loves and wants to keep safe. What interests me is how she carries both responsibilities, as a guardian of the Amrit and as someone deeply attached to her loved ones. Her courage, her emotions and the choices she makes are what define her. She feels fear and worries about those she loves, but still finds the strength to step forward. An Apsara isn’t waiting for her hero. She is the hero.”
