Star campaigners Kanhaiya Kumar came out in support of Cong candidate Basant Chaudhary

Chandigarh, December 20, 2021: A public meeting was held at Sector 47 C Park here today in support of Basant Singh Choudhary, the Congress candidate for Municipal Corporation election from Ward No. 21 (Sector 47 and Faidan), which was attended by Kanhaiya Kumar. Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, MLA Rajendra Singh Rana, former counselor Jatindra Bhatia and Mohali Mayor Amarjit Sidhu Manish Bansal & Congress leaders also addressed the gathering.
 
Kanhaiya Kumar said that “people want change and are fed up with the policies of BJP. I feel very happy to be in Chandigarh. It is my appeal that by voting in favour of Basant Singh Chaudhary, strengthen the process of change and cooperate in creating an atmosphere of peace”.
 
Basant Chaudhary said that he himself is a resident of the same ward, so he understands the problems of the residents. He said that he would get CCTV cameras installed in Faidan village, gates would be installed at the entrance and exit points of the sector and necessary reforms would be done for the working class people. Emphasis will be given on need based change policy for Housing Board houses. Children's playgrounds will be developed at vacant places in the sector. We will work to make such arrangements for the handicapped and senior citizens to get the benefits of government facilities while sitting at home.
