Ludhiana, October 3, 2025: Preparations are complete for the grand inauguration of Saras Mela 2025, India’s most spectacular celebration of culture, craft, and cuisine, scheduled from October 4 to 13 at Mela Ground, PAU. 

The festival will be launched on Saturday morning, while the first star-studded evening will be held in the evening on October 4.

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, after overseeing final arrangements at the venue, confirmed that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure an unforgettable experience. This vibrant festival will bring together 1,000 artisans from across India, showcasing an exquisite collection of rare handicrafts, traditional artworks, and handcrafted treasures. The event will also feature electrifying performances by renowned Punjabi artists, promising evenings filled with music, dance, and entertainment.

Star Nights
The musical extravaganza begins on October 4 with the iconic Gurdas Maan, followed by Kulwinder Billa on October 5, and the dynamic duo Basant Kur and Pari Pandher on October 6. On October 7, Kanwar Grewal and Manraj Patar will captivate audiences, while October 8 features an ensemble of Gurnam Bhullar, Sweetaj Brar, Prabh Bains, Asmeet Sehra, and Kala Grewal. The excitement continues with Dilpreet Dhillon and Vicky Dhillon on October 9, the soulful Satinder Sartaaj on October 10, and Ranjit Bawa on October 11. Josh Brar, joined by Gitaj Bindrakhia, will energize the crowd on October 12, and Gippy Grewal will close the festival with chart-topping hits on October 13. Each evening, these artists will blend Punjabi folk, contemporary, and Sufi melodies to create unforgettable performances.

Competition and Workshops

From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily, Saras Mela 2025 will host engaging workshops and competitions celebrating creativity and tradition. On October 4, a Bhangra and Gidha workshop will immerse participants in Punjabi folk dance, followed by a painting competition on October 5 for aspiring artists. A turban tying workshop on October 6 will teach traditional techniques, while a live pottery workshop on October 7 explores the art of clay. Creativity continues with a bottle painting competition on October 8, a Mehndi competition on October 9, and a Rangoli competition on October 10. An origami workshop on October 11 offers a unique crafting experience, followed by a face painting competition on October 12. The festival concludes on October 13 with a photography competition, capturing the Mela’s vibrant spirit.

Special Highlight
A special highlight on October 4 will be the launch of a heartfelt song performed by Bhavna and Palak, two visually impaired sisters from the Institute of Blind in Jamalpur. Produced by the district administration in collaboration with Bunty Bains, this song, introduced by Gurdas Maan, celebrates resilience and talent.

The mediapersons will have free entry with I-card only in Mela Area excluding the concert zone. 

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain announced that all proceeds from Saras Mela 2025 will support Flood Relief Funds, aiding communities impacted by recent floods. This event combines a celebration of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage with a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a noble cause. Jain warmly invited residents to attend in large numbers, enjoy the spectacular performances, explore unique crafts, savor delicious cuisines, and support the flood relief efforts.
