Sportspersons mourn Milkha Singh’s death

Ludhiana: Punjab Basketball Association executives assembled at Guru Nanak Stadium along with players and coaches to mourn the demise of Milkha Singh, the famed track and field athlete. Assembly observed 2 minutes of silence in prayers. 

Speaking on the occasion Teja Singh Dhaliwal, Gen Sec PBA recalled his dedication to health fitness which brought laurels in the competitive international arena. 

Yurinder Singh Hayer(IPS ), a Senior Vice President of PBA in his message to the youthful players invoked the ideals of discipline and persistent hard work of Milkha Singh. 

Vijay Chopra, Darshan Singh Sandhu Vice Presidents of PBA and Suman Sharma, an Arjun Awardee also mourned the demise of the famed athlete. 

J P Singh and Brij Goyal of District Basketball Association too mourned the demise of Milkha Singh and his wife, an eminent sports person who expired a few days before.
