Sports make us physically and mentally strong, therefore everyone should participate in some form of sport. These remarks were made by Pawan Dewan, former President of the Ludhiana Urban Congress Committee and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, while addressing players and organizers during the Belt Award and Felicitation Ceremony of The Great School of Martial Arts today.

Ludhiana, March 7, 2026: Sports make us physically and mentally strong, therefore everyone should participate in some form of sport. These remarks were made by Pawan Dewan, former President of the Ludhiana Urban Congress Committee and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, while addressing players and organizers during the Belt Award and Felicitation Ceremony of The Great School of Martial Arts today.
On this occasion, Dewan highlighted the important role of martial arts in self-defense and said that everyone should learn martial arts to ensure their personal safety. He added that sports play a vital role in building both physical and mental strength. He also encouraged children to actively participate in sports.
Earlier, the head of the school, Gaurav Sachdeva, presented mementos to Dewan and his associates as a mark of respect. During the ceremony, Dewan and the organizers also honored players who performed well in different categories.
Among those honored were Naitik Sachdeva, who won a silver medal in the Under-19 girls’ National School Games; Sahajleen Kaur, who won a bronze medal in the Under-14 category; Vanshika Yadav, who secured a bronze medal in the Under-19 girls’ School Games; Chanchal Singh for achieving Judge-B; Black Belt Second Dan Mansha; and Black Belt First Dan Kanisha were included.
Additionally, Yellow Belt recipients included Charan Preet, Gurman Singh, Manvik, Ameer, Naviksha, Aishleen, Arjun, Anahita, and Ryan. Orange Belt was awarded to Fateh Singh; Green Belt recipients included Aishpreet Kaur and Jagshan; while Brown Belt recipients included Gur Sahib Singh and Sahajleen Kaur.
Among others present on the occasion were Gurdeep Singh Walia, Tejinder Singh, Pulkit Chaudhary and other staff members of the institution.
