Special Olympics Bharat celebrates Inclusion with the International College of Dentists

New Delhi: Special Olympics Bharat and the International College of Dentists Section VI  (India Nepal Sri Lanka) jointly conducted a virtual event combining the Special Athletes and the top brass of the ICD Section VI, President Dr RP Gupta , Secretary General Dr Rajiv Chugh, President elect Dr Swatantra Aggarwal and the Board of Regents  –  in their centennial celebrations underpinning Inclusion. The one-and-a-half-hour roll-out presented a Health Talk that was led by Dr Arpit Gupta, Fellow ICD and was followed by a unified cultural extravaganza presented by the Athletes and doctors  
 

The suspension of routine activities and the precautionary measures adopted to fight coronavirus have resulted in a drastically altered lifestyle for all. Consequently, this has posed greater challenges to athletes with intellectual abilities as they adjust to this new way of living. Dr Arpit Gupta delivered a health talk with simple effective advisory for the athletes to maintain healthy smiles and good oral hygiene in tough time of lockdown when professional oral health care is relatively difficult to avail.
 

The evening witnessed the abilities of the Athletes beyond the sports field. Athletes Rohan Sarma guitarist, and Samir, singer, from Assam and Punjab respectively, entertained the viewers through their inclusive performances with Dr Tarun Pandey and Ms Sulekha Rana. The evening was anchored by the Comedian from Punjab, Ms Rekha Kashyap

The event upheld the continuing fervour with which the ICD Section VI has committed to support Inclusive Health, making Oral health and hygiene accessible to the Athletes of SO Bharat all over the country and beyond.
With a network of more than 1.5 million athletes and their families spread across all the States and UTs of India, Special Olympics Bharat expresses their gratitude and appreciation to the organization.
