Special lecture on Covid: Concerns and Care 

Chandigarh: The Interdisciplinary Center for Swami Vivekananda Studies, Panjab University Chandigarh organised a special lecture on COVID: Concerns and Care by Dr.Parul Ichhpujani, an Associate  Professor at the department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College and Hospital Sector 32 Chandigarh.
Prof.Nandita Singh, Dean International Students, presided over the lecture.Prof.Renu Thakur, Coordinator of the center introduced the speaker who is an avid researcher and seasoned acamedician
Dr.Parul in her illustrated presentation discussed how Covid has engulfed whole world, the cases are multiplying and deaths are occurring at  rapid scale. Since there is no medication or vaccination to prevent or  cure this viral infection, social distancing and maintaining hand hygiene is the only panacea to  save ourselves. The population with compromised immune system is more affected by this deadly virus.She laid stress on rigorous testing to keep track of the patients who are asymptomatic.She applauded the efforts of the government in this regard .She reiterated that Arogya Setu App can help us only if we are truthful, otherwise it will not provide us the correct information.
She stressed we should treat our pets kindly as they do not spread this virus.The myths and memes associated with Covid should be snubbed and rejected by all. In her view  false information regarding this virus is creating panic among the people.We need to be careful and vigilant always and do not hide anything.The sooner we realise this the better. In her presidential remarks Prof.Nandita Shukla Singh praised the speaker for a very intellectual and insightful talk .This talk  will help the participants to save them , their families ,friends and society from this pandemic.A good number of faculty, research scholars and students attended this web lecture.
