Special lecture of Dr Aslam Khan live from Mahatma Gandhi Central University Motihari (Bihar) 

Chandigarh: The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with the UNESCO Network Chair organized a special lecture of Dr. Aslam Khan, Live from Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari (Bihar) today on the topic "Collapse of Liberal Institutionalism and Challenges to Peace and Security".
Before the start of the lecture, two minutes silence was observed to give tribute to former DUI Professor Shankar ji Jha who expired yesterday due to heart attack. After that Dr. Manish Sharma, Chairperson introduced the topic and speaker and other invited guests, faculty members and students.
In his address Dr. Aslam explored the various nuances of Liberal Institutionalism and it's relevance in the contemporary times. How institutions like UNO and WHO are on the verge of collapse due to realist and protectionist design. The present covid19 has exposed the weak link of liberal intuitions. American led world order has been lost relevance and world is looking for alternatives.  The equal and fair representation is the only key to save these multilateral institution.
In the end, different questions were asked by the various faculty members and students. The lecture was attended by Professor Swaranjit Kaur, Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Prof. Navjot and others. The concluding remarks were given by Professor Ronki Ram. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and emphasised that we need to revisit the approach towards the Peace and Security with relation to the liberal institutions and role of the super powers.
