Speakers share their motivational stories at CT University

Ludhiana, December 31, 2020: Giving a platform to people who are contributing their bits in the society, and to share their inspiring stories, CT University organised one of its kind events named ‘Open Mic’. In this, six speakers from varied fields shared their life struggle, challenges and accomplishments. The Guest of Honour remained, Malvika Sood Sachar, Director of

Hollywood English Academy and Social Worker based in Moga and sister of Bollywood actor Sonu Sood.

Speakers namely Sunil Raj Vinayak, Fashion Designer based in Ludhiana; Satwinder Kaur, President, NGO, AbbNhi Welfare Society; Rahul Kumar Singh, PLHIV Gay, working as Project Manager In Shaan Foundation, Mansa; Mohini Mahant, first Transgender of National Lok Adalat in Punjab, Member of Justice Penal President, Mansa foundation welfare society working for LGBQT community; Ravi Devgan, a dedicated Social Worker and Artist from Raikot and Dipti Saluja, a handicapped Advocate and Social Activist, working for cancer patients & disabled people shared their life inspiring stories with the audience gathered. A guest performance was given by the students of the University.

While sharing her story, Ditpi Saluja, said, “It was never ‘disabled’ for me, I was always ‘specially able’. I faced certain hardships and even lost my mother with cancer. So, both the circumstances made me learn from them. I started working day and night for disable people and cancer patients. Alongside, I’m working as an Advocate and seeking all Government help for such special people. I just want to spread the message that the society must look at us with an equal eye. Also, the people who have, must share! Share and spread happiness.”

Rahul Kumar shared his struggling life that how he was always mistreated and taken advantage of; but concluding that, he wishes to inspire people to stay strong. He is also passionately sharing about the misconceptions that how people ill-treat with HIV positive people, that it has to be discarded and treat all people equally.

Mohini Mahant threw light on her struggling phase when she was taken by the transgender community and was then not allowed to complete her study. She narrated her story that how she fulfilled her passion for studying and started Mansa Foundation.

On this occasion, Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor, Manbir Singh, Managing Director, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor and Guest of Honour, Malvika Sood Sachar, honoured the guests. The event was anchored by Assistant Professor Himani Joshi Arora. Also present were Prithvipal Singh, Sky Way Hosiery, Ludhiana and Inderpal Singh, Darshan Singh & Co. Moga.
CTU Managing Director Manbir Singh thanked the speakers for sharing their inspirational stories and also extended support in any area whenever required.
