Speaker hails CM for great Diwali gift to Punjabis

Chandigarh, November 1, 2021: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh today welcomed the slashing of power tariff by Rs 3 per unit, saying it was a great Diwali gift by the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, for the people of Punjab. “Where there is a will, there is a way”, he remarked, while referring to the slashing of power tariff for the domestic consumers.
 
The Speaker who had raised the demand for reducing the power tariff for domestic consumers across the state, said, the move will provide much needed relief to the common man.
 
Rana observed that the middle class people had been gravely hit economically during the pandemic. “With electricity bills now getting slashed by about 30 percent, they can heave a sigh of relief”, he remarked.
 
He also congratulated the Chief Minister for announcing an 11 percent hike in the ‘Dearness Allowance’ for the state government employees.
