Sony SAB broadens its slate of shows with Kaatelal & Sons, an inspirational tale of sisters who believe that Dreams Know No Gender.

Inspired by a true story, Kaatelal & Sons is a tale of Dharampal Thakur, to be essayed by Ashok Lokhande, and his treasured hair salon named 'Kaatelal & Sons'. Based in Rohtak, Haryana, the show with its gripping storyline will take fans to an emotional yet hilarious set of events through the lives of Dharampal and his daughters Garima and Susheela. The show will air on Sony SAB and will feature the fashionable and young duo of Megha Chakraborty as Garima and Jia Shankar as Susheela in pivotal roles.

Megha Chakraborty will be seen playing the role of Garima. Talking about her character and the show she said, "Garima and Susheela are twin sisters. Garima being 4 minutes elder to Susheela is more patient, careful and sensitive as compared to her outspoken, impulsive and hotheaded sister, Susheela. Garima is a character that holds the household together. The viewers will witness two modern, striking and confident women who will carve their dreams through their father's salon – Kaatelal & Sons. The show has a beautiful underlying message that our dreams do not have any gender and it will be presented in an extremely entertaining and comic way for the viewers."

Megha Chakraborty, while expressing her excitement for her new role as Garima and the way this character is challenging her an artiste, she shared, "Kaatelal & Sons for me is a project that is different than what I have done so far. My journey as Garima has just started, but I am excited to see what this character and show has in store for me as an artist. I was a little nervous initially because the show is based in Rohtak and my role demands a heavy Haryanvi accent. I am training every single day to perfect my diction. We started shooting yesterday, and the entire setup and detailing will give you a feel of Rohtak."

Jia Shankar, who will be playing the dauntless and ambitious Susheela, said, "I knew, I wanted to this project the moment I heard about Susheela's character. The prospect of trying something new was exciting, and I am glad to have got an opportunity to inspire our audience as Susheela. Susheela is unlike any character I have portrayed so far, from her walk to the way she sits, to her language, is entirely contrary to who I am as a person. There are several challenges for me as an artist towards acing this role, and I am excited to keep learning and moulding myself as Susheela. My character in the show is outspoken, courageous and a hothead for whom fitness and her ambitions hold immense importance. The viewers will witness the difference between the sisters instantly because they both are so unique in their own ways. The concept of the show is also something I believe in - which is un-gendering your dreams, it is truly inspiring. Dreams do not have any gender and this show will bring this belief alive. "
